Tenge, the national currency of Kazakhstan, has strengthened against the US dollar up to a record level since early 2016.

The official exchange rate of tenge was 337.17 KZT/USD on Apr. 11 as compared to 340.94 KZT/USD on Apr. 8, according to the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE).

The highest rate of tenge was observed on Jan. 1-5 at 340.01 KZT/USD, while the lowest rate was on Jan. 22 - 383.91 KZT/USD, according to Kazakhstan's National Bank.

Tenge's rate began to decline after the country's National Bank switched to floating rate in August 2015.
