BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. Kazakhstan studies the possibility of launching oil exports to Germany as early as January 2023, Magzum Myrzagaliev, Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC KazMunayGas”, said during the meeting with Christian Görke, Member of the Bundestag, Trend reports, citing the press service of KazMunayGas.

Görke expressed interest in stable supplies of crude oil from Kazakhstan via the Druzhba oil pipeline. The KazMunayGas Chairman confirmed the possibility of supplying Kazakh oil by means of the proposed pipeline, however, highlighted the need to resolve contractual and technical issues.

According to Görke, Germany is interested in importing Kazakh oil to supply the oil refinery in the German city of Schwedt, which is the major refinery that provides processed oil products to Brandenburg state and the capital Berlin.

The question of Kazakh oil supply was also discussed between the KazMunayGas Chairman and the Parliamentary State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany Michael Kellner via a video call.
