Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan presidents instruct state officials to settle border issues

Kurmanbek Bakiev and Islam Karimov, Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have given direct instructions to chiefs of ministries, departments and local state administrations to settle border issues, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, Kadyrbek Sarbaev, said Tuesday, "24.kg" reported.

The presidents came to an agreement that state officials would cooperate closer when solving common problems. Touching upon the issues over incidents on border, the leaders pointed that they should be solved at a local level.

Kurmanbek Bakiev and Islam Karimov unanimously agreed that cooperation between the republics would be raised to a much higher level.
