Kyrgyzstan has ratified a memorandum of understanding with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Kabar news agency reported on June 24 that Kyrgyzstan's President Almazbek Atambayev signed the law "On ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between Kyrgyz government and the OSCE on implementation of the program on small arms and light weapons and stockpiles of conventional ammunition, signed on August 2, 2013 in Bishkek".

The law was adopted by Kyrgyz parliament on May 28, 2014.

Under the law, the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan was instructed to notify the OSCE on implementation of the domestic procedures needed for the memorandum to come into effect.

The law will come into force on the day of its official publication, Kyrgyz president's office said.
