BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 13. Our efforts in Karabakh, East Zangezur, and Nakhchivan contribute not only to Azerbaijan's goals of reducing emissions but also strengthen our leadership in the transition to clean energy, the President of COP29, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan Mukhtar Babayev said in the address participants of the Troika High-level Dialogue: Our Roadmap to Mission 1.5 towards a future of shared prosperity, Trend reports.
The address was read by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chief Negotiator of COP29 Yalchin Rafiyev.
"Azerbaijan has designated key regions such as Karabakh, Eastern Zangezur, and Nakhchivan as clean energy zones. These areas have significant potential for renewable energy sources, including solar and hydropower. Our efforts in these regions contribute not only to Azerbaijan's emissions reduction goals but also strengthen our leadership in the transition to clean energy. We are actively investing in these projects, attracting significant international interest and cooperation," the address reads.
