BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 13. COP29 serves as a platform for African nations, helping to create the conditions necessary for developing countries to achieve their climate goals, said Musalia Mudavadi, Secretary to the Prime Minister of Kenya, at the Troika High-level Dialogue: Our Roadmap to Mission 1.5 towards a future of shared prosperity, Trend reports.
"For the African group, COP29 is not just a negotiating space; it is a platform designed to help create the necessary conditions for developing countries to achieve their climate goals. We are confident in our support for the COP29 presidency as part of the Mission 1.5 roadmap, sending a clear message that this process is about shaping signals for the international financial architecture.
COP30 can build on this agenda by defining a framework for how the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) process communicates with the international cooperation ecosystem.
This includes delivering messages to participants in the global economic system on how they can contribute to more ambitious actions, foster deeper collaboration, and better understand the barriers faced by countries in this journey," he added.
