TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, November 13. The relevant
aspects of strengthening practical cooperation on Uzbekistan's
accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) have been
discussed, Trend

At the sidelines of the COP29 climate conference in Baku, in the
National Pavilion of our country, the President of the Republic of
Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with the
Director-General of the WTO, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Satisfaction was expressed with the progress of the Working Group's meetings and the dynamics of negotiations with WTO member countries.
Efforts are actively underway to harmonize national legislation with WTO norms and rules, including the abolition of export subsidies.
Special attention was given to enhancing the qualifications of Uzbek specialists in international trade regulation.
An exchange of views took place regarding support measures for
Uzbekistan's efforts to conclude negotiations and join the
organization in the coming years.
