Tajikistan supports Iran's right to pursue peaceful N-energy

( Irna ) - Tajik Minister of Foreign Affairs Hamrohon Zarifi here on Friday stressed that Dushanbe fully supports Iran's right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy.

He made the remark in a meeting with the visiting Iranian Energy Minister Parviz Fattah.

"We believe that pursuance of peaceful nuclear technology is Iran's legitimate right and if there is any problem, it should be solved through negotiations and diplomacy," Zarifi said.

He further voiced his country's willingness to utilize Iran's valuable experiences in the areas of industry, dam construction, energy and agriculture.

For his part, Fattah briefed the Tajik minister on the latest developments in Iran's nuclear program stressing that the recent report by Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei has proved that there had been no deviation in Iran's peaceful nuclear activities.

Underlining the need for further expansion of Tehran-Dushanbe cooperation, he said various joint projects are currently underway in Tajikistan.

Fattah, heading a delegation, arrived here on Thursday to discuss issues of mutual interest with senior Tajik officials and to inspect Iran-Tajikistan joint projects.
