By Russian president's decree of March 6 Yuri Popov is appointed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Tajikistan, according to the MFA information department.
Popov replaced Ramazan Abdulatipov, whose tenure to Tajikistan ended in November 2008, reported Asiaplus.
Russia's MFA Ambassador at Large Yuri Popov had previously served as head of the Joint Control Commission for the Settlement of Georgian-Ossetian Conflict.
