Tajikistan slightly decreases car import

Tajikistan has slightly decreased import and export of vehicles since the beginning of 2014, Avesta.Tj reported citing the country's Statistical Agency.

In January-August, 2014 Tajikistan's vehicles import has decreased by 0.1 percent or by $300,000 compared to the same period of last year.

During the mentioned period, the country imported vehicles worth about $505.1 million compared to $505.4 million during the same period of 2013, according to the agency.

Basically, the country imports used cars. Cars are mainly imported from the Baltic States and Europe. China stood first as Tajikistan's exporter of vehicles.

Tajikistan's motor vehicles export decreased by 33 percent by $50.3 million in January-August of this year. The country re-exports vehicles to other countries.

During the above mentioned the country exported motor vehicles worth over $102.2 million compared to over $152.6 million in January-August, 2013.
