Salaries of customs employees to increase in Uzbekistan

As of Oct. 1, the Uzbek government decided to increase the wage categories of employees in the uncategorized customs posts into two wage categories. Employees within the first wage category are to be placed into a single category of the Unified Employees' tariff salaries of the State Customs Committee beginning on October 1.

As of Oct. 1, the Uzbek government decided to increase the wage categories of employees in the uncategorized customs posts into two wage categories. Employees within the first wage category are to be placed into a single category of the Unified Employees' tariff salaries of the State Customs Committee beginning on October 1.

According to the governmental regulation, salaries of customs officials will increase on Oct. 1, depending on the volume of the workload and working conditions.

Moreover, the government approved the establishment of a special bonus fund within the Customs Development Fund at the State Customs Committee, which will be formed using 25 percent of total fund revenues.

Financial support for the customs officers' awards will come from the special fund.
The Uzbek President approved a resolution providing for the reform of the customs service to improve its activity in early September.

Customs wage positions will be divided into categories, including uncategorized positions, and positions in the first and second categories.

The first category will include fixed customs checkpoints operating around the clock. The remaining border customs posts and customs offices of foreign economic activity will refer to the second category.

The uncategorized customs posts include all railway border posts and customs offices for foreign economic activity.

Customs authorities must pay attention to preventing, detecting, and combating corruption.
