The practical aspects of preparation for the upcoming state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping were discussed recently by the foreign ministries of the two countries, Uzbek Foreign Ministry reported.

According to the report, negotiations were held during the visit of a Chinese delegation to Tashkent headed by Assistant Foreign Minister and Head of Protocol Department, Zhang Kunshen . The Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Zhang Xiao also participated at the meeting.

It was previously reported, China's Foreign Minister, Wang Yi paid an official visit to Uzbekistan in mid-July. It was then noted that the parties attach a great significance to the upcoming visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Uzbekistan in the light of the development of broad spectrum of bilateral relations.

The Chinese FM was received by Uzbek President Islam Karimov. He stressed that China is a friendly country for Uzbekistan and that cooperation with this country is on a long term and mutually beneficial basis.

Uzbekistan and China actively develop interaction in oil, gas, petrochemical, chemical and mining industries, in the spheres of transport and logistics, the manufacturing industry, telecommunication, production of electrical technology and modern construction materials, as well as in a number of other spheres of the economy.

Mutual commodity turnover increased by almost 25 per cent and amounted to $3.23 billion in 2012. The same dynamics of sustainable growth remain in 2013.
