Uzbek software developers that are included in the National Registry, are exempt from all taxes and mandatory contributions, as well as customs duties (excluding customs clearance) for imported equipment for their own use, technical documentation, software that is not manufactured in Uzbekistan, until 2017, a decree of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov 'On measures for the further strengthening of domestic software developers' read.

The decree states that funds released as a result of tax benefits should be aimed at developing and strengthening the material-technical base, stimulating employees of legal entities - software developers.

The validity period of tax benefits is extended by two years, provided that the volume of exports of one's own software is at least 50 percent of the total of goods sold (works, services).

An order will be set, and according to it, the legal entities - software developers, included into the National Registry, are eligible to export activities and services related to the production and maintenance of software, at foreign currency through online stores on the Internet without an export contract.

According to the document, the National Registry of software developers will be based on the national directory of developers and software, placed on software.uz.

"Legal entities whose income from the development, deployment and implementation of proprietary software is not less than 50 percent of the total volume of their sold goods (works, services) are included in the National Register on a voluntary and free of charge base," the document said.

The creation of a single electronic bank of information on domestic software developers and the development of a database of national software products is also provided. Encouraging of the development of competitive domestic and international markets of domestic software products, defining the priority directions of their development, taking into account the real needs of industries and the economy sectors is also envisaged.

The functions of formation, maintenance and further development of the National Register of software developers are assigned to the State Committee for Communication, Informatization and Telecommunication Technologies of Uzbekistan.
