Largest share of Uzbek textile production falls on Fergana region

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 6

Some 5,080 Uzbek textile enterprises produced textile products worth 11.5 trillion soums ($1 billion), Trend reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

According to the ministry, the index of the physical volume of this industry in comparison with the corresponding period of last year increased by 19.1 percent.

It is reported that regions with the largest share in the total volume of products manufactured by textile enterprises in Uzbekistan was noted in Fergana region, amounting to 15 percent.

Almost two times less textile products were produced by Uzbek enterprises in Kashkadarya region - 9.8 percent, Tashkent region - 9.1 percent, Samarkand region - 9.1 percent and Bukhara region - 9.1 percent.

Earlier it was reported that in 3M2021 Uzbek textile products were exported in the amount of $637.7 million, which amounted to 26.6 percent of the total export volume, increasing by 37.8 percent compared to the same period last year.

Also, in the structure of exports of textile products, the main share accounts for cotton yarn (54.9 percent), as well as finished knitwear and garments (23.1 percent). More than 364 types of textile products were exported to 54 countries of the world in 3M2021.

The committee stated that the largest share of exports of textile products for 1Q2021 fell on Russia ($209.4 million - 32.8 percent), China ($170.1 million - 26.7 percent), and Kyrgyzstan ($84 million - 13.2 percent).
