Iranian Foreign Ministry summons Bahraini chargé d'affaires to Tehran

Bahrain's chargé d'affaires to Tehran was summoned to Foreign Ministry to explain for the untrue remarks of Bahraini officials as well as the false reports published by media and press in his country, IRNA reported.

The diplomat was summoned following the remarks of a number of Bahraini officials regarding discovery of what they called a terrorist group affiliated to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the false news stories carried by Bahrain's media and press regarding the issue.

During the meeting, the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Persian Gulf Affairs Hossein Kamalian rejected any kind of connections between Iran and the mentioned group.

He also voiced Iran's strong protest to and discontent over the repetition of such false and baseless accusations.

Kamalian further described the Manama actions as futile and said they were unfruitful methods which only served interests of enemies of the region.

He also said that such behavior would not only fail to solve any of the problems Bahrain was facing but make the regional situation more complicated.

The Foreign Ministry official stressed that the only solution for Bahrain out of its problems was to provide a proper response to the demands of its Muslim nation.

The Bahraini diplomat said he will inform his country of the views of the Iranian officials immediately.
