Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Majlis and Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi said on Tuesday that he was pleased with consular cooperation with United Arab Emirates, IRNA reported.

He made the remarks at the Seventh Joint Consular Commission of Iran and UAE in Abu Dhabi.

Qashqavi said holding such commission is a sign of the two Muslim neighboring countries decision to keep friendly ties.

Pointing to the two nations deep historical and brotherly relations, the deputy foreign minister called for expansion of ties. Qashqavi expressed hope that both Iranian and the Emirates officials would work to remove all obstacle in bilateral relations.

Iran and United Arab Emirates held their Seventh Joint Consular Commission meeting on Tuesday October 9 in Abu Dhabi. Qashqavi and UAE Deputy Foreign Minister Tariq Ahmed al-Haydan co-chaired the commission.

The meeting focused on consular issues and extradition of Iranian prisoners in UAE and the two countries police cooperation.
