A plane with relatives of the dead arrived from Moscow to Irkutsk at 13:00 local time (9:00 Moscow time) on Monday, reports Trend.

Families are to identify their loved ones in a procedure that has begun in a morgue.

A spokesman at the public relations department of the Irkutsk regional prosecutors office told ITAR-TASS that investigators were continuing the work in the morgue and at the crash site, where they examined exhibits.

The investigators also began questioning survivors of the disaster that left 124 people dead as an A-310 passenger plane from Moscow went off the runway after landing at the Irkutsk airport, crashing into its concrete fence and a garage.

A team of 40 investigators of the regional prosecutors office and the Interior Ministry had been formed for a comprehensive examination of circumstances of the accident.

Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika has taken the investigation under his personal control, the public relations department said.

A senior aide to the Irkutsk regional prosecutor, Alexander Semyonov, told ITAR-TASS that the investigators examined as possible causes of the accident a technical malfunction of the A-310 plane, a rainy weather that made the runway slippery and an error of the crew.

The planes flight and speech recorders have been found and turned over to a governmental expert commission for interpretation of data.

Several technical and forensic examinations have been ordered for the investigation.
