A German car making company is going to set up a production unit in Iran, according to head of Iran-Germany Chamber of Commerce Omid Yaraqi.
The unit will serve as the company’s regional export hub, he said, without mentioning the name of the company, Mehr news agency reported October 5.
He also said that Volkswagen is going to start a major wave of car export to Iran, pointing out that the export will come in the form of CKD (complete knock down).
This is while major Iranian carmakers Iran-Khodro and Saipa have signed contracts with the French PSA Peugeot Citroen to launch production lines in Iran.
