Uganda calls for more agricultural cooperation with Iran

Iran is very capable in agriculture and we call for more cooperation in the field, said minister of agriculture of Uganda in a meeting with the Iranian envoy in Kampala, the country's capital, IRNA reports.

Uganda is rich in water and has fertile soil, it also has abundant and inexpensive work force, said Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries Vincent Bamulangaki Ssempijja, adding Iranians can collaborate with Uganda in mechanizing agriculture, making modern irrigation systems, establishing animal husbandry centers, produce-processing factories, training in packaging, and marketing and exporting farming products.

Handing in the Iranian Minister of Agriculture Mahmoud Hojjati's message, Iranian ambassador to Uganda Morteza Mortazavi invited Ssempijja to visit Iran and get acquainted with Iranian companies' capabilities in modern agriculture.
