First batch of polypropylene exported through Iran’s Arak railway

The first batch of polypropylene was prepared at Shazand Petrochemical Plant and exported through the railway of the Arak county of Iran's Markazi Province, Director of the Railway Directorate of Iran's Markazi province Jalaladdin Kuknar said.

For the first time a 240-ton batch was exported to Kazakhstan via the Injeburun railway through nine railcars, Kuknar added, Trend reports referring to IRNA.

This year, the number of passengers transported via Arak railway increased by 16 percent. Over 410,000 passengers have been transported to various parts of the country by railway, he said.

The Arak railways stretch 426 kilometers through Qom, Markazi and Lorestan provinces and has 20 stations.

Shazand Petrochemical Plant is one of the biggest plants producing polymer and chemical products. It is one of the most important infrastructures in Iran.

Shazand Petrochemical Plant was put into operation in 1993 and is considered to be one of the main plants for medium and small producers in the oil and gas sector in Iran.
