Iran transports gas to Shif Island of Bushehr Province, feeds gas to 1800 families

During Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's provincial visit to Bushehr Province, for the first time in the country, a gas-transferring project using Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Technique was implemented, Trend reports citing Official Website of Iran`s National Gas Company.

The gas was transferred to the Shif Island (Jazireh-ye Shif) in the Bushehr Province.

Saeed Momeni, director of gas supply at the National Iranian Gas Company, said that in addition to gas supply to Shif Island in Bushehr Province, gas supply to the Bushehr nuclear plant will be launched as well.

He announced that the cost of gas transferring project is about $2.5 million, adding that through implementing these projects, 1800 households will benefit from gas supply.

“The length of the gas pipeline to the Shif Island is 2.5 km,” he said. “To supply the island and the Bushehr nuclear power plant, a 21-kilometer feed line, more than 25 km of network with a TBS station during the period of seven months were built.”

Shif is a sandy island in the north of the Bushehr port.
