Iran’s Judiciary head, Sadeq Amoli Larijani accused President Hassan Rouhani of defamation of the Judiciary.

He said that Rouhani, in private, requests the judiciary to confront newspapers and media, but in public calls for freedom of the press, Tasnim news agency reported.

Larijani’s comments came in response to Rouhani’s statements at the 22nd International Press Exhibition on Nov. 5.

Rouhani criticizes press restrictions, and limitation against the social media during his speech.

“We should not break pens with fake excuses and shut mouths based on false pretenses,” he said.

He further said that his organization doesn’t care about these statements and will continue to work within its legal framework.
