An explosion outside the Armenia Molybdenum Production earlier today has left eight people injured, Tert.am reported.
The survivors - Robert Harutyunuyan (27), Armen Karapetyan (23), Varazdat Hakobyan (25), Harutyun Sahakyan (35), Azat Sulugyan (34), Arsen Muradyan (53), Sevada Mesropyan (58), and Melik Karapetyan (53) - were hospitalized with different degrees of burns. Some of them are said to be in the Burn Centre.
A police task force and a team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations that arrived on the scene after the incident were not immediately allowed access to the premises on the grounds that it was a private territory. But after negotiations with the plant's security guards, they managed to gain entrance to the building.
