A group of Gumri residents have begun to march from Gumri to Yerevan to participate in a rally to be held on Freedom Square in Yerevan on April 9, Armenia Today reported today.

A group of Gumri residents have begun to march from Gumri to Yerevan to participate in a rally to be held on Freedom Square in Yerevan on April 9, Armenia Today reported today.

According to the initiators, the procession is an action of protest against massive fraud and official results of presidential elections in February.

"We will fight until justice is achieved," the statement said.

Marchers will be accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of "Heritage" party Armen Martirosyan.

The march will start on Theater Square in Gumri on the morning of April 7.
Residents of cities and villages located from Gumri to Yerevan can join the action.

"This is a civil initiative implemented within the law," a statement said.

The presidential elections were held in Armenia on February 18. According to official results, the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan won the presidential elections with 58.64 percent of the votes. Raffi Hovannisian ranked second with 36.74 percent.
