One man has been killed, one more injured and hospitalized as a result of the collapse of the two storeyed building for visually impaired people at Ponichala region of Tbilisi. Eleven families are reported to remain homeless.
The part of the building which allocated living accommodation has been collapsed, the mayor of Tbilisi Gigi Ugulava arriving to the scene reported to journalists.
Ugulava underlined that the mayor's office would grant alternative living apartments for people suffered.
The mayor's office of Tbilisi also undertakes all future expenses on the dead man's funerals.
The causes of the collapse of the building have not been cleared yet. According to primary data the cause may be damage to the bearing wall made during restoration works commenced in the building.
