Ambassadors of OSCE member states advocate Georgia-South Ossetia dialogue's peaceful development

On July 25, South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity met with ambassadors of OSCE member states. As REGNUM was informed at South Ossetian foreign ministry, detailed opinion exchange on all aspects of Georgian-Ossetian conflict settlement, state of negotiation process, and ways of peaceful settlements further development took place. Eduard Kokoity stressed again South Ossetias adherence to exclusively peaceful way of Georgian-Ossetian relations settlement, emphasizing necessity of working out a joint settlement program with participation of all parties in the framework of the JCC and OSCE chairman-in-office. Strengthening of confidence measures, economic rehabilitation, demilitarization should get top-priority there as most important factors, which contribute to peaceful settlement, being basis for the whole negotiation process, reports Trend.

The South Ossetian leader expressed concern of the South Ossetian side again about level of Georgias militarization, stating that demilitarization process should be two-sided; he called on international community to pay appropriate attention to it. The president stressed that it was necessary to continue functioning of the JCC and JPF in existing formats, emphasizing importance of achieved agreements. Mentioning possible meeting with Georgian leadership, Mr. Kokoity stressed that he called on conducting summit in the JCC format, where all parties would guarantee non-usage of armed force.

In their turn, the ambassadors of OSCE member states, who were present at the meeting, unambiguously stressed international communities adherence to peaceful development of Georgia-South Ossetia dialogue. Also, they confirmed necessity of the conflict zones demilitarization and economic rehabilitation; they assured that the dialogues development would be supported exclusively in way of peaceful talks.
