Kerry: US "red line is real" on Syria
US Secretary of State John Kerry stressed Wednesday that the United States' red line on chemical weapons use in Syria "is real" despite its demand for more evidence after France claimed sarin gas had been used by the Bashar al-Assad regime, dpa reported.
Kerry said he had asked the French government for more information on its claims, but said the US was also conducting its own analysis.
"Make no mistake whatsoever. The president's red line is real," Kerry said in Guatemala, where he was attending the Organization of the American States General Assembly in Guatemala. He noted that President Barack Obama has a range of options available to him.
