The government of Haiti on Friday confirmed a cholera outbreak north of the Haitian capital Port-au- Prince, dpa reported.
Around 140 people have died so far, while some 1,500 people in the Lower Artibonte region have fallen ill with the intestinal infection caused by consumption of contaminated water and food, officials said.
