Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and his economy minister, Giulio Tremonti, planned to address a news conference at 18:00 GMT Friday amid market speculation targeting the country, DPA reported.
Berlusconi and Tremonti were expected to refer to Italy's economic situation as Italian stocks came under renewed pressure during trading on Friday and yields on Italian government bonds again topped the 6 per cent mark - a level considered unsustainable.
