Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham extended Iranian nation and government's condolences to the Russian government and nation on the occasion of the crash of Boeing-737 passenger plane in Qazan city in Russia's Tatarestan, IRNA reported.
All the passengers and crew of the airplane who totaled 50 people have been killed in the crash.
Afkham sympathized with the families of the victims of the crash.
Son of Tatarestan's president and son of Tatarestan's Intelligence were among the dead.
Spokesman for interrogation committee of Russia's prosecutor's office Vladimir Markin said that the cause of the plane crash is still to be know, but he said the tragic incident might have happened due to bad weather conditions, human error of the pilot and plane's technical failure.
