UN says at least 3,660 killed in Ukrainian conflict

At least 3,660 people were killed and 8,756 were injured in the conflict in Ukraine from mid-April to Oct. 6, the Office of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said on Oct. 8, the Interfax news agency reported.

On Sept. 30, the number of people killed in eastern Ukraine was 3,627 (taking into account the people killed in the Malaysian plane crash), while 8,446 people were listed as wounded.

The OHCHR said that since the ceasefire began, between Sept. 6 and Oct. 6, at least 331 fatalities have been recorded, although some of the individuals may have been killed prior to the ceasefire, but were put on the record only recently.
