At least three Turkish police officers were killed in separate attacks in a Turkish resort town of Antalya on Thursday, Today's Zaman reported.

A group of men fired on police officers working for Muratpaşa district police department, who were on duty in Yıldız neighborhood at a time of the attack, and injured two police officers.

The wounded police officers died in Antalya Education and Research Hospital.

Police officers were put on alert and stationed in key areas across the area to capture the assailants. The attackers opened fire on police officers on duty who are working for the Kepez district police department, killing another police officer.

Antalya Governor Ahmet Altıparmak told reporters that it was not a terror act but an "ordinary security matter," adding that there is no reason for panic. He said the criminals left their cars and escaped.
