From January through November 2019, the volume of Turkey's defense industry exports increased by 65.4 percent, compared to the same period in 2018, and amounted to $14.1 billion, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Trade Ministry Dec. 5.
In November 2019, exports of Turkey's defense industry increased by 68.1 percent, compared to October 2018, and amounted to $2 billion.
Over the past 12 months (November 2018 – November 2019), exports of Turkey's defense industry increased by 65.3 percent, compared to the same period in 2017-2018, and amounted to $15.4 billion.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said earlier that Turkey will strengthen its defense industry and become a global leader in the manufacture of defense products.
In recent years, Turkey has invested about $35 billion in its defense industry.
