Import of Turkish chemical products to Iran plunges by almost half

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 31

The value of chemical products export from Turkey to Iran dropped by 44.7 percent from January through April 2020 compared to the same period of last year and made up $94.4 million, Trend reports with reference to the Turkish Trade Ministry.

In April 2020, Turkey's export of chemical products to Iran fell by 68.7 percent compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to $12.4 million.

Meanwhile, Turkey's export of chemical products to the world markets slid by 10.9 percent from January through April 2020 compared to the same period of last year and stood at $6 billion.

Turkey's export of chemical products to world markets amounted to 11.7 percent of the country’s total export from January through April 2020.

According to the ministry, in April 2020, Turkey's export of chemical products to world markets amounted to slightly over $1.2 billion, which is 27.3 percent less compared to the same month of 2019.

Meanwhile, Turkey's export of chemical products made up 14.3 percent of the country’s total export.

During the last 12 months (from April 2019 through April 2020), Turkey's export of chemical products to world markets amounted to $19.8 billion.
