OIC member countries boost imports of Turkish-made products

Turkey's exports to the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) increased by 1.9 percent from January through February 2021, compared to the same period of 2020, exceeding $8.06 billion, the Ministry of Trade of Turkey told Trend.

At the same time, the exports from Turkey to OIC countries accounted for 26 percent of Turkey's total exports, said the ministry.

“In February 2021, Turkey's exports to the OIC countries increased by 3.2 percent compared to February 2020, amounting to $4.18 billion. In this month, Turkey’s exports to OIC countries accounted for 26.2 percent of the country’s total exports,” the ministry said.

According to the ministry, Turkey's imports from the OIC countries in the first 2 months of 2021 decreased by 3.9 percent compared to the same period of 2020, amounting to $4.92 billion.

Imports from OIC countries made up 13.2 percent of Turkey's total imports in January-February 2021, the ministry said.
