The volume of cargo transshipment from Spain through the ports of Turkey made up over 2.53 million tons from January through February of 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment from Spain by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to 324,558 tons, and by ships flying the flags of other countries – 2.19 million tons.
At the same time, ships flying the Spanish flag transported 14,757 tons of cargo through the ports of Turkey.
During this period, the volume of transshipment of goods in transit from Algeria through the ports of Turkey amounted to 26,609 tons.
The volume of cargo transshipment through the ports of Turkey exceeded 58.3 million tons in the first two months of 2021.
According to the ministry, in the reporting period, the volume of cargo transshipment by ships flying the Turkish flag amounted to over 4.7 million tons.
From January through February of this year, more than 53.5 million tons of cargo have been handled by ships flying the flags of other countries, added the ministry.
Meanwhile, 11.8 million tons of cargo were transited through the ports of Turkey.
In February 2021, 29.6 million tons of cargo were handled through the ports, including 2.2 million tons by ships flying the Turkish flag, and more than 26.9 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.
Besides, more than 5.8 million tons of cargo were transported in transit through the ports of Turkey in February 2021, said the ministry.
