Kazakh Temirbank sharply ups new profit in 2012

Kazakh Temirbank increased new profit by 2.5 times to 3.5 billion tenge (151.24 tenge = $1) in 2012, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with the reference to the bank's Chairman Daulet Karimbayev.

The bank's assets grew by 12.2 percent to 287.1 billion tenge in 2012, the loan portfolio grew by 13.4 percent to 283.5 billion tenge.

The bank's equity decreased by 6 percent to 60.4 billion tenge as of January 1, 2013.
According to Karimbayev, TemirBank plans to increase net profit under IFRS by 6 percent and receive 3.7 billion tenge in 2013.

Kazakhstan is the main shareholder of TemirBank through the Kazakh Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna.
