Kyrgyzstan will purchase 10,000 tons of sugar from Azerbaijan, Kabar news agency reported referring to the first deputy prime minister of Kyrgyzstan, Tayirbek Sarpashev.
He said Kyrgyz government signed a contract on sugar purchase with Azerbaijan.
"We have already held talks with Azerbaijani side. The sale price on Kyrgyz market will amount to 45 soms per kg, which is 15-20 percent lower than market prices," Sarpashev told reporters at the press conference on June 5.
"I am confident that the sale of sugar at the market will start in two weeks. We know that some companies increase prices for sugar to 60-70 soms in summer period. But it will not happen anymore", he added.
