Novorossiysk port decreases oil shipping by 20%

Russian international sea trade port of Novorossiysk shipped 68.72 million metric tons of oil in January-November 2014 compared to 84.89 million metric tons in the same period of 2013, the port said Dec. 17.

The Novorossiysk port shipped 25.63 million metric tons of petroleum products during the reporting period compared to 22.17 million metric tons in January-November 2013, the report said.

Around 122.09 million metric tons of a variety of cargo were transported for 11 months compared to around 129.48 million metric tons in the same period of 2013.

The Novorossiysk port transshipped about 91.74 million metric tons of oil in 2013 compared to 110.83 million metric tons in 2012. The port transshipped 24.2 million metric tons of oil products in 2013 compared to 19.4 million tons in 2012.

Totally, the port transshipped about 141 million metric tons of cargo in 2013 compared to about 159 million metric tons in 2012.

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) transports its own oil through this port.
