Meanwhile, Castel Tile, an ICAO expert, met ob Monday with members of the Board of Observers of he Georgian company Gruzavianavogation to scrutinize the issue.

Zaza Chkhaidze, an official of Gruzavianavogation, said that the 100km-section of highway, which was given to Azerbaijan in 2001 under an agreement between the Presidents of two countries, was returned to Azerbaijan on 17 March.

According to Chkhaidze, in compliance with the international convention, the control over the section is a prerogative of Azerbaijan, as it is related to the territory of this country, while the procedures of confirmation were violated in the beginning.

Chkhaidze noted that the highway is considered at the frontier department, developed in the administration of the civil aviation and adopted by the President.

Transference of the road section to Georgia was conditioned with small-power Azerbaijani radars, which were unable to fix the planes and handle the flights.
