By Fatih Karimov - Trend: National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company has sold 912.876 million liters to domestic and foreign airlines in the first seven months of the current Iranian solar year, which began on March 21.
The volume of fuel supplied to the airlines rose by 74.009 million liters compared to the same period in the previous year, Iran's Shana news agency reported on Oct. 29.
Over 127.7 million liters of fuel were sold in the seventh calendar month of Mehr (September 22-October 22).
During the 7-month period, 16,953 Iranian and foreign planes transported passengers.
Iran Air received the highest volume of fuel among Iranian airlines.
Some 10 percent of the total fuel is sold to foreign airlines.
The number of national and international flights through Iran reached 47,940 in September 22-October 22, a 35.3 percent rise year on year, Iran's Mehr news agency reported.
