Gobustan Operating Company is to complete the treatment work in the territory, damaged during the extractive operations, by early September, the Ministry told Trend.
The company carries out the treatment work in compliance with the sentence issued by the Economic Court. "The case can be reconsidered unless the company implemented the work within the period set," the same source underlined.
The legal proceedings between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and Gobustan OC have lasted roughly 2 years. The Ministry filed a suit on the company with demand of payment of compensation for the damage to the upper layer of the land while operations. The company was fined 719.7m manats.
