The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) started drilling of exploitation well 1328 within the development of onshore Palchig Pilpilesi field, the SOCAR told Trend. The project depth of the well makes up 1840 meters. The work is planned to be completed in late 2005 or early 2006.
Besides, the Company drills wells 1153 and 2571 on Palchig Pilpilesi. The project depth of the first well makes up 1740 meters, the second - 2140 meters.
Area of the field is 11 km to 2.5 km. The Company started development of the field in 1963. There are 5 platforms in the balance of Palchig Pilpilesi field. Over 230 exploitation and 56 development wells have been drilled over this period. The oil resources produced from the field amounts 13.8m tons.
