The volume of cargo traffic on the 'Zhetygen-Korgas' railroad line on the Kazakh border will be at 2 million tons in 2013, head of JSC 'NC 'Kazakhstan Temir Zholy' (Kazakhstan railway) Askar Mamin said at a conference at the Fund "Samruk-Kazyna".
The "'Zhetygen-Korgas' railroad has been commissioned". Transit transportations are already carried out by it today. We expect that the traffic volume will reach 2 million tons this year," Mamin said.
According to him, the design capacity of this line is 200 million tons. It is planned that the cargo traffic volume will increase every year starting in 2013.
"In the future, cargo traffic will grow every year. I met with our Chinese counterparts, they pay much attention to the corridor. All goods to Central Asia will be transported through this corridor," Mamin said.
