GDP per capita in Kazakhstan amounted to $13,000, Kazakh Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Erbolat Dossayev said on March 18.

"Despite weak global economic growth, the real GDP growth in 2013 in Kazakhstan amounted to six percent which corresponds to the target forecast," Dossayev said at a government meeting.

Economic growth has been achieved by increasing domestic demand, high investment activity and a rapid growth rate in the agricultural complex, engineering and construction industries, according to the minister.

The growth in the sphere of services became the main factor of GDP growth, Dossayev said. The growth of service production amounted to 7.4 percent in 2013. Contribution to the economic growth rate amounted to 3.9 percentage points, while the input of the production of goods amounted to 1.4 percentage points.

Production growth amounted to 2.3 percent in industry. The highest rates were observed in the manufacturing industry with growing 14.6 percent which provided 88 percent of the growth of Kazakhstan's entire manufacturing industry.
