By Fatih Karimov - Trend: About 75,000 projects are semi-finished in Iran.

Iranian vice president Mohammad Shariatmadari said about $130 billion is needed to complete the semi-finished projects, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on Aug. 26.

Taken the government's limited sources of money, the projects will take 24 years to complete, he added.

USD exchange rate is currently about 31,000 rials in Iran.

Abdonnaser Hemmati, Governor of Melli Bank of Iran, said on June 16 that despite a rise in the current year's development budget, completing the semi-finished projects will take about 20 years, Iran's ISNA news agency reported.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Baqer Nobakht, Iranian vice president for planning and strategic supervision said on June 16 that the Iranian administration needs $125 billion to complete development plans which are underway nationwide.

He added that the budget is needed to complete 2,900 development plans, Iran's Mehr news agency reported.

In December 2013, Nobakht said the administration has focused on completing semi-finished development projects and will not start new ones.
The administration has not initiated any project since President Hassan Rouhani took office in August, he further said.

We will allocate the lion's share of national development budget to finish the projects which are complete by over 80 percent, he added.

The current year's budget bill has set the national development budget at 380 trillion rials (about $11.8 billion), a 33 percent fall year on year.

The Iranian solar year starts on March 20.
