Tehran, Iran, October 22

By Mehdi Sepahvand – Trend:

Iran’s CEO of Ports and Shipping Organization Mohammad Said Nejad met with Germany’s Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrindt in Tehran to discuss bilateral cooperation.

The two officials were scheduled to sign a memorandum of understanding for boosting bilateral cooperation on ports and shipping, IRNA news agency reported October 22.

During the meeting, Said Nejad underlined that Iranian ports have a strategically beneficial position to transport goods from a third country.

Two southern ports of Rajaei and Imam are ready to send goods to third countries and equipment has been already purchased from Germany to refurbish them for the purpose, he noted.

Dobrindt for his part said Iran and Germany have first to hold joint workshops, then investigate the existing grounds for cooperation, and finally hold talks accompanied by specialist workshops in Berlin.
