British Midland International has revealed the reason for suspending their daily services to Tehran.
"Company's daily service to Tehran will be suspended from 13 October 2012 as part of its integration into British Airways," BMI's spokesperson told Trend.
The spokesperson added that the customers who are due to travel after 13 October will be contacted shortly and offered a full refund.
The Iranian media outlets reported earlier that BMI, which is affiliated to the British Airways, has said that the decision has been taken due to high costs of fueling in other countries as the Islamic Republic stopped fully refueling the BMI flights at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Airport in retaliation for the refusal of western oil companies to refuel Iranian flag carriers at several European airports.
Last year due to worsened diplomatic relations between the UK and Iran UK, Kent International Airport prevented an aircraft from Iran's national airline to make refuelling stops on return journeys from the Heathrow airport.
In December 2011, EU accepted additional sanctions against 179 individuals and institutions associated with the Iranian authorities. The decision was taken at the meeting of the EU countries FMs in Brussels.

In 2010 Iran has stopped fully refuelling British Midland Airways (BMI) flights at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Airport in retaliation for the refusal of western oil companies to refuel Iranian flag carriers at several European airports, including London's Heathrow.
