The newly appointed Lithuanian Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan with a residence in Moscow Renatas Norkus delivered his credentials to Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov for President Karimov, the Uzbek foreign ministry reported today.

The sides discussed the priorities for the development of bilateral relations in various fields.

The sides also exchanged views on some international issues during the meeting at the foreign ministry.

The parties stood for the continuation and intensification of the Uzbek- Lithuanian dialogue in the political, trade-economic, investment and other areas.

Significant potential for expanding the relations between the Uzbek and Lithuanian business circles was stressed.

The issues of strengthening the contacts among the institutions of science and education, cultural figures and public organizations of the two countries were discussed.
