Kazakh’s national airline Air Astana has today launched a direct flight from the capital of Kazakhstan to the capital of Azerbaijan, the company said.

Kazakh's national airline Air Astana has today launched a direct flight from the capital of Kazakhstan to the capital of Azerbaijan, the company said.

Flights will take place twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays on a comfortable airliner Embraer 190.

The airline bought four aircraft belonging to the new generation Embraer 190 under operational leasing to make flights to the countries of Central Asia and CIS and signed a contract to purchase two new aircraft of this type. The first one will be delivered in July.

One way tickets from Baku to Astana in economy class start from 200 manat ($1 = 0.7858 manat), including airport fees and other taxes and from 450 manat - in business class. Return tickets will start from 376 manat in economy class, to 886 manat - in business class, including fees and other taxes.

The duration of a flight from Baku to Astana is 2 hours and 55 minutes.

Besides Baku, the Air Astana flight makes direct flights between Baku and Almaty three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Earlier direct flights between Baku and Astana made Kazakh Company SCAT.
